RAWALPINDI: Members of the US Senate Armed Services and Intelligence Committee, led by Senator Angus King, have called on Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa.
The delegation included Senator Richard Burr, Senator John Corn and Senator Benjamin Sass.
Angela Aguilar, US Secretary of State for Pakistan, also accompanied the delegation. According to DG ISPR, issues of mutual interest, current situation in Afghanistan and bilateral cooperation in various fields were discussed during the meeting.
The Chief of Army Staff on the occasion said that Pakistan was keen to maintain lasting bilateral relations with all the regional actors and wanted peaceful and multilateral relations. Pay
Organized efforts are needed for the economic betterment of the Afghan people. The Chief of Army Staff appreciated the efforts of the Senators in understanding the geo-political and security situation in the face of challenges.
The US Senators appreciated Pakistan's role in the Afghan situation, especially in border management and regional stability, and reiterated their commitment to further strengthen diplomatic cooperation with Pakistan at all levels.
