ISLAMABAD: The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has made electricity more expensive, a notification has also been issued.

 NEPRA has increased the price of electricity by Rs4.74 per unit.

The notification issued by NEPRA said that the increase in consumers' electricity bills would be collected from December.

According to the notification, the new prices will not apply to Lifeline customers and K Electric customers.

 Recently, NEPRA had issued a notification to increase the price of electricity by Rs 3.75 paise for Karachi consumers.

The notification said that electricity has been made more expensive in the context of September's fuel charges adjustment, the increase will be received in December electricity bills.

 NEPRA had reserved its decision on K Electric's request to increase the price of electricity by Rs3.45 per unit under fuel charges adjustment.
