Islamabad : Punjab’s Law minister Raja Basharat on Saturday sent the initial investigations report of Sialkot mob-killing case to Prime Minister Imran Khan and Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar, sources revealed.
According to the initial report, mob started torturing Sri Lankan national at 11 in the morning. Report further revealed that foreign companies were supposed to visit factory later the day, and the manager had asked employees of cleansing machines as well as taking down stickers and posters from walls.
As the manager asked crew to take down religious stickers from walls, [reportedly Darood Sharif written on them, as revealed by one of the prime suspects later in a video] the factory workers staged protest against manager and blocked main road.
According to media reports, as the mob kept mounting in numbers, the manager got frightened and moved to factory’s roof to find a hiding place. Later he was grabbed by the mob and tortured with kicks and iron rods, which eventually took his life.
The initial investigations report revealed that factory owners have left the scene hided themselves. 120 people have been arrested and further raids are underway.
Talking to reporters, Raja Basharat said that report was sent to Prime Minister. Administrative laggings have also been reviewed along with religious aspect of the issue. Security of Churches and foreign workers has been tightened in Sialkot, he said.
