The 17th Extraordinary Session of OIC Council of Foreign Ministers is underway in National Assembly of Pakistan.The key focus of this conference is to devise a strategy to address the humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan.The session draws attention of the international community to the fact that the unfolding situation in Afghanistan is not only a humanitarian challenge, but has wider implications on security and stability of the region and beyond.The participants call for a comprehensive & concerted political approach to tackle the humanitarian crisis ASAP, else it will have worse fallout including increased instability, economic collapse and mass exodus of refugees/economic migrants.The session urges the international community to join hands for the provision of urgent and sustained humanitarian assistance, and realize that it our collective responsibility to extend financial and in-kind support, besides preserving the gains made over the years.
