An Indian military helicopter caught fire in mid-air

A Russian-made Indian Air Force Mi-17V5 helicopter crashed near Konwar in Tamil Nadu today.

The Indian Air Force confirmed the death of Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat in a helicopter crash, saying 13 people, including General Bipin Rawat and his wife, had been killed in the crash.

Some videos are going viral on social media in this regard, with users claiming that this is the same helicopter in which Bipin Rawat and other personnel were aboard and had caught fire in the air.

However, the Indian Air Force has not yet confirmed the cause of the crash and whether the helicopter caught fire in mid-air or due to some other technical problem.

A statement issued by the Indian Air Force said that an inquiry has been launched into the cause of the helicopter crash.

It is pertinent to mention that the military helicopter of Chief of Defense Staff General Bipin Rawat was en route from New Delhi to Solar area of ​​Tamil Nadu when it crashed near Connor in Tamil Nadu.
