Lahore: The fifth anniversary of the country's famous Naat singer Junaid Jamshed will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 7. Junaid Jamshed was born on September 3, 1964 in Karachi.
He formed a pop music band called Vital Size in which he started his career as a singer.
A meeting with renowned scholar Maulana Tariq Jameel in 2004 changed the life of Junaid Jamshed and despite his immense fame in singing, his inclination was towards religious teachings, teaching and praise. Saying goodbye to the singer, in 2005 he released his first Natya album in his beautiful voice. This series continued later.
He was also awarded the Medal of Distinction in 2007. He was martyred in a plane crash near Havelian on December 7, 2016 on his way to Islamabad from Chitral.
